Hello!
My name is Allie :) I'm a student at Reed College working my way to a Biology Degree. My absolute passion is working to perform conservation research on marine life (especially marine mammals!)I've already begun my journey as a marine mammal expert by rehabilitating sick and injured seals and sea lions at The Marine Mammal Center. Feeding the blubbery 1-month to 1-year-old babies lights up my life. There are so many sick marine mammals that I want to help!
I've been given a fanastic opportunity to take my experience to the next level with Operation Wallecea . I will be traveling to Cuba (have you ever been to Cuba?) to act as a research assistant to scientists studying manatees, sharks, invasive lionfish, and coral reefs! The trip covers 4 weeks of scuba diving, lab work, and field work with the animals (my dream!)
Traveling to Cuba will be a breeze. The restrictions for returning to the U.S. require that there be no leisure time, so help me have absolutely zero fun in Cuba (I won't tell if you won't.)
