Send kids to Juvenile Diabetes Camp
What is JD Camp?
Our Juvenile Diabetes Camp, works in partnership with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and has been running for over ten years! Children who have been recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and their families get together for a complementary (completely funded by the University of Western Rotaract club) camp weekend for fun and information on Juvenile Diabetes!
-Rotaract has been hosting camps for children with medical needs since 1985!
-JD camp provides a link to resources in the community for families & children.
-We also provide opportunities for personal growth and life long friendships between families and friends!
What We Need!
Our main costs:
-Renting the camp facility. (Pearce Williams U.C. Center)
-Food for the families. (We are not catered - We cook our own food!)
-Program Supplies for all the fun camp activities such as pottery, sports equipment, arts & crafts.
We have opportunities for Sponsorship Packages!

If we don't reach our goal we will not be sustainable and have to use finances from Rotaracts general fundraising budget.
The Impact
-If you do not have a background in healthcare having a child who has been recently diagnosed Type 1 Diabetic can be a daunting transition.
-With our club having almost 30 years of camp experience and expert staff; we hope to help families form connections and find support in the London Community!
-We would like to continue this tradition in having a positive impact on the London Community while providing support for individual children and their families.
Challenges
-We have a great team of Western University student leaders who meet weekly for over a 6 month period to brainstorm and work through any challenges we may encounter.
