Send Zach to the Yale Norfolk Summer Residency

We are beyond excited that School of Visual Studies junior Zach Johnson has been selected to participate in the Yale Norfolk School of Art Summer Residency Program. The funding of this project would go toward Zach's tuition costs, materials and travel to Connecticut.

Established in 1948, this intensive six-week residency brings 26 rising senior undergraduate students from around the country to work with each other,  distinguished resident faculty, visiting artists and scholars.  The program provides an atmosphere in which students are encouraged to deepen their creative discipline and develop an art-making process to launch into their senior year.

Students are first nominated by their college or university and then submit substantial application materials including a mature portfolio, artist's statement and essays.  The selection process is highly competitive.  Yale Norfolk has a celebrated legacy alumni including Eva Hesse, Sheila Hicks, Robert Mangold, Brice Marden, Sarah Sze and Mickalene Thomas, among many others. Many of Yale Norfolk’s alumni go on to make significant contributions to the field of art and credit the Yale Norfolk School of Art with a profound impact on their lives and art.
