Send winning student's coach to Nationals w her!

Hello, My name is Will Goldyn and my winning student is Stella, a senior at Grand Arts. She just won 1st place at the regional English Speaking Union competition and is headed to New York for the National Finals, representing all of Los Angeles, to be held on the stage at the Lincoln Center. The local ESU branch financially supports her expenses, and so I turned to LAUSD to help pay for me to join and continue supporting her - this being the first time our school has a national finalist and the first time in forever that LAUSD has a finalist headed to New York! LAUSD turned me down. They are SITTING on a 4.9 BILLION dollar surplus but won't give COLA raises or fund this 30+ year veteran to support our winner. And for many reasons that some of you know, I can't personally afford it either. Any amount would help - if every Facebook friend donated just 50 cents, I could attend this event with Stella. Please help if you can - I'm embarrassed (as most teachers would be) to even ask for your help. And a huge thank you for even taking the time to read through this request.
