Send West Fargo Lego League to World Championship
Donation protected
We would like to ask to support an incredible group of fourth and fifth graders from West Fargo’s Freedom Elementary who are passionate about STEM learning and helping the community through discovery and innovation.
The group is one of three My First Lego League (FLL) teams from Freedom Elementary. The teams is made up of seven kids–Andrew, Sathvik, Maia, Olivia, Sai Shristi, Kenda, and Logan–dedicated many after-school hours this year to develop a project that showcases creative approaches to making musical instruments more accessible to kids, while also programming a robot to accomplish a series of complex tasks. These kids attend their first competition at NDSU on January 27th, 2024 where they presented their innovation project and competed against other teams with their robot (taking home 2 trophies!).
Next, the kids were able to take feedback from the NDSU event and make improvements to their presentation and robot programming. Their hard work paid off as they ultimately won the state of North Dakota’s FIRST® LEGO® League tournament at UND on February 10th, 2024 – the first West Fargo team to do so!
Now this team, the Digital Artists, is advancing to the league’s global competition in Houston, Texas, in April, and this is where we need your help! We are hoping to raise enough money to help send these seven students and their teacher, Mrs. Tressa Lura, to compete on the international stage. Our overall goal of $30,000 will pay for registration, hotels, transportation, food, and materials (such as team T-shirts, swag, and displays).
Any donations will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
