The Virginia Ice Theatre of Fairfax Novice team has qualified to compete in the 2017 Nations Cup taking place in Ann Arbor, MI this spring! This event includes top teams from six countries competing in the newest and most creative form of competitive figure skating. We could not be prouder to be one of the teams selected to represent the United States.
This is an honor made possible for the first time by years of dedication from our skaters, coaches, board, club, sponsors and parents who have supported VITOF over the past five seasons.
This amazing team of young skaters needs extra support this year as preparing for the Nation's Cup requires another level of costs to cover ice time, competition fees, travel, costumes and props. The team is almost entirely funded by its members and your contribution would greatly help offset some of the financial burden on our skater families.
Virginia Theatre on Ice is an inclusive program that invites skaters of all levels of skill and provides need based scholarships for skaters ensuring that any child that has a passion for the sport has an opportunity to participate.
The team will showcase its performance at Fairfax Ice Arena in May (date TBD, we'll keep you posted!) If you can, come check them out! The hard work, athleticism and artistry of these community kids will surely make you proud.
