Over the years, my son Vincent has grown fond of collecting marbles and building marble race tracks. Over the last year and a half, he has taught himself how to play a tournament style game of marbles called Ringers.

All his efforts paid off recently when he won 1st place at a regional marble competition at Standing Stone State Park in Hilham, TN. In winning, Vincent now qualifies to compete in The National Marbles Tournament held in Wildwood, NJ.

This is a nationally recognized tournament held every year, dating back to 1922. Winning "mibsters" (marble shooters) from all across the United States converge to play during a week of competition, with the winners being awarded a college scholarship!

The competition is held over the week of June 15 through June 20, which is fast approaching. However, all winners have to provide their own way to the Wildwood, NJ.
