The Viking Bro-Bots, a team of six 6th-grade students from St. Albert the Great Catholic School, have achieved something truly remarkable. After months of dedication, teamwork, and creative problem-solving, they were awarded the Champion’s Award at the Northern Nevada FIRST LEGO League Championship Tournament. Competing against more than 25 teams, they stood out not only for their robotics performance but also for their innovation, research, and gracious professionalism. This is the highest honor in the tournament, and it has earned them an invitation to the FIRST LEGO League World Festival in Houston, Texas. They are the only team from Nevada to receive this invitation, giving them the chance to represent Northern Nevada on a global stage alongside teams from around the world.
FIRST LEGO League is about much more than robotics. It encourages students to explore STEM, develop critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, and learn the value of collaboration and leadership. For the Viking Bro-Bots, qualifying for the World Festival is a life-changing educational opportunity. However, attending the World Festival comes with significant costs, including travel, lodging, meals, competition materials, and team preparation. The total expenses are substantial, and we want to ensure that every student on the team can participate, regardless of financial circumstances.
The Viking Bro-Bots have worked tirelessly, dreaming big and rising to every challenge. Their dedication, teamwork, and creativity earned them an extraordinary honor: representing Northern Nevada on the world stage at the FIRST LEGO League World Festival in Houston. This opportunity is about more than robotics. It is about confidence, perseverance, and showing students that their hard work truly matters. With your support, these young innovators can experience a once-in-a-lifetime event that will inspire their futures in STEM and beyond. We invite our community to help make this dream possible. Every donation, no matter the size, brings the Viking Bro-Bots one step closer to Houston and shows them that their community believes in them.
