Send UmE to the National Youth Leadership Forum

I have had the pleasure of being UmE's 3rd grade and now 4th grade teacher. She came to my class in October of 2022 from Pakistan, where she lost her mother and younger brother in the extensive journey to receive a better education. She came to Ashburn, VA, with her father and older brother to achieve her dream of becoming a doctor. In the year that I have been her teacher, I have watched her progress and accomplish more than I have ever witnessed in 10 years of teaching. She has managed to overcome every challenge and let her passion drive her every step of the way. I nominated UmE to represent our school in Washington, DC this summer at the National Youth Leadership Forum: Pathways to STEM. After an extensive process, she was selected! However, we need the community's help. The program is week-long and requires a payment of just over $3,000 for the residential option. This option is required for this family due to transportation to and from Washington, DC every day. In addition, UmE wrote a wonderful essay to apply for financial aid and won a scholarship of $500. That leaves her family with a remaining balance of over $2,500. Help her to delve into the world of medicine, discover how to program a robot, and learn about detective work and crime scene investigation. She will make new friends, have a new understanding of her abilities, and be better prepared to become an exceptional leader in her community. Please help us to make this child's dreams come true!
