Send Youth Climate Leaders to COP27

As we count down the days to COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh some of the most courageous, dedicated and knowledgeable young people on the planet are again in danger of being excluded from the most important climate talks of all time.

Last year thanks to your generosity we were able to support a number of youth climate leaders to attend COP26. THIS YEAR I am asking for your help funding COP27 for two Ukranian climate leaders: Alona Lovits, who this year found herself fleeing her home country for the second time in her young life due to Russian Agression. AND

Ilyess El Kortbi, a Climate Justice Activist of Ukrainian-Moroccan origin, who endured a horrific escape from Kharkhiv earlier this year.

Honestly, there is nobody more important to send to COP27 than young courageous activists who have direct experience of a fossil-fuel-funded war carrying the essential message that climate justice is the only way to assure peace. IWe don't just owe Alona and Ilyess thanks, I think we owe them REAL support.

Our leaders can't be bothered to go to COP27, but at least they have the option. Alona and Ilyess will make a difference (they are incredibly effective climate leaders, raised through Fridays for Future and experienced in UN process). They will keep pressure on negotiators that cannot be ignored. They have told me they will go by any means (they are UN youth climate reps so have accredited passes). But I want them to be able to stay somewhere safe, eat and have contingency funds. They are incredibly frugal and as refugees have very little support. They have put their youth on hold to campaign on our behalf. They have already endured incredible trauma, but continue to work flat out on the climate emergency.
