In 2016, after three years of CrossFit, I decided to train olympic weightlifting full-time. I wanted to improve my technique, get stronger, and challenge myself in a new way... take a step outside my comfort zone.
I fell in love. Weightlifting has become my therapy, my saving grace, and the foundation of my life in so many ways.
After a year of consistent training five days a week, I entered my first meet and ended up qualifying for the American Open I in Reno...which unfortunately fell on the same date as my National Board exams. (Priorities).
My total also qualified me for the American Open II in Miami in July. As a struggling Doctor of Chiropractic student, it seemed like a far fetched idea. But with a little help, the dream of competing on a national stage could actually become a reality...
Help raise money for my coach and me to make our way to Miami to represent our gym, our friends, our family, and the mental and physical strength we stand for on a bigger scale than we could have ever imagined!
