Send the Five Guys Wind Quintet to Fischoff!

Hello! We are the Five Guys Wind Quintet, a chamber ensemble formed by the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) Youth Fellowship. Coached under NSO French hornist Robert Reardan, our group consists of five exceptional members: Alison Pollock, bassoon; Austin Adaraninjo, french horn; Annie Jung, oboe; Jayden Lee, flute; and Louis Westerman, clarinet. Through the fellowship, we meet together each week for a chance to observe NSO rehearsals, attend concerts, rehearse alongside the NSO, receive individual lessons with NSO members, and rehearse chamber music. Now, we plan to bring our training to the Fischoff Competition, a prestigious international chamber music competition in South Bend, Indiana.

From the moment our group met, we instantly clicked. From laughter and jokes over quintet names to playful banter in rehearsals, all five of us enjoy every moment making music together. As passionate musicians dedicated to spreading our love for music, we have performed in multiple areas around D.C., from public venues in the Union Market, private performances at The Colonnade apartment, and even the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center. Our love for performance motivates us to seek opportunities, not just to perform, but to give back to our communities and spark joy in the people who listen to us.

We are thrilled for our next step in performing at the Fischoff Competition. Unfortunately, a trip of this size does require a large amount of funding. Therefore, we greatly appreciate any donations. Hotel and rental car costs have been generously covered, but plane tickets, the most expensive portion, still remain. Henceforth, all funds we receive will go towards flying from D.C. to Chicago and back (about $450 per person). Thank you for your contributions, and stay tuned for more musical updates on our adventures!
