Send Takoda to Japan for a Life-Changing Summer

I am 17 years old and going to school in Alaska. It is my dream to be a teacher in Japan. I am planning on going to Japan in June.

My mom is a widow and single parent on Social Security. It is my goal to go to Japan on a student summer program, but I need to raise funds to pay for my airfare and costs for room and board for the summer.

Ultimately, my plan is to spend the summer in Japan and return to my high school in Alaska for my senior year. I plan on joining the Alaska Military Youth Academy and, upon completion, enter the Japanese program at Fairbanks or Anchorage University of Alaska, where I can spend two years abroad in the JET program working toward my degree.
