First, I'd like to say thanks to everyone that has supported me throughout the years with my love for music and entertainment. I’ve been performing since I was two and many of you have supported my dreams and aspirations from day one and for you I will always be grateful!
I am excited to share that I’ve been accepted to a phenomenal summer music program at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. It’s a 5-week summer intensive that begins in July 2017. I’m a sophomore in high school now, and Berklee is at the top of my list of colleges to attend after graduating in 2019. This summer program will be the first step in moving toward that goal. Attending this summer intensive will prepare me for upcoming college auditions, allow me to dive into more jazz studies, and meet other students from all around the world that share the same passion for music.
I was blessed to receive a partial scholarship from Berklee! While this is great, approximately $6,500 remains to cover housing, transportation, meals and tuition. I’m applying for every additional training scholarship that’s available and my mother is doing everything she can to help meet this cost. In addition, I’m also working hard to maintain my GPA and working part-time at Chick fil A to save money to make this opportunity a reality. While I have been very fortunate to have the support of you and my community in pursuit of my dreams; I ask that you continue to support me, for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend Berklee.
