Send Spencer to National Youth Leadership Forum

I am a 6th-grade student at School of the Future and have been nominated to represent my school and community at National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) in New York City. By attending NYLF, I will join other motivated students from around the country for an experiential Leadership/Career Exploration program focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). As you can see, this will be a powerful experience, enabling me to interact with respected professionals in various fields (including former NASA astronauts) while building relationships with students who will be my future colleagues. Attending this program will allow me to further my interest in STEM and reach my career goal of becoming an engineer. I maintain a 95% GPA, am involved in baseball, table tennis and mountain biking and have received multiple awards for debate and academic achievement.

Imagine if you had been given this opportunity for a life-changing experience when you were in school and were unable to participate for lack of funds—that is why I am writing to you today. My participation in the program depends on whether I can raise $2800 in sponsorships. I am investing what I can of my own money to make sure I don’t miss out on this unique experience. In addition, through my family, friends, and neighbors, I have already raised $600. That leaves me with a balance of $2,200 and I am hoping that you will consider assisting me with all or some of these costs. My tuition must be paid no later than June 15, 2023.
