We were fortunate enough this year to qualify a combined 27 students for the National Speech and Debate Association's National Tournament held this year in Phoenix, AZ. This is the largest academic competition in the country that features 1,500 schools and 6,000 students from all 50 states and 4 countries. The Lincoln East Speech & Debate Team has had much success at this competition, including two East students being named national champions just last year.

Unfortunately, our district and school do not provide us with any funds for this colossal undertaking. Any contribution made will help us to offset the cost of airfare, hotel, car rental, and entry fees. We have done a ton of fundraising, but still, we are unfortunately having to pass most of this cost to students. We have always had a team goal that all students who qualify for nationals should have the ability to compete - anything that you can contribute will help us make this a reality.
