Sophie is a junior at Wadsworth High School, a member of the National Honor Society, a leader of the Philosophy Club and the Treasurer and an active member of the Speech and Debate team, competing in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.
 
Sophie plans to study political science and economics in college with the goal of entering public service. 
 
With this in mind, Sophie applied to attend Constitutional Academy this summer in Washington, D. C. and was one of about 60 students selected nation-wide. 

The program is designed to help politically-minded young people like Sophie develop their understanding of American politics by engaging in deep discussions on critical issues and interacting with scholars, policy makers, and thought leaders.  Sophie will be able to take her interests to the next level by contextualizing and testing them alongside policymakers and youth leaders.   She will also visit places of historical significance, and connect with professionals throughout the D.C. area.  This year, the Constitutional Academy will be held July 10-14. 

Scholarships are need-based, so Sophie does not qualify.  That said, she does not have the $2,174 (including fees) it costs to attend.  A life in public servce means fundraising and this is Sophie's first fundraiser.  Please consider sponsoring Sophie for this opportunity of a lifetime.   She needs to confirm attendance by April 1st.  Donations can be made anonymously.
