Send Seth to NYC & the American Ballet Theatre
Donation protected
My name is Seth Madsen (age 17) and I have been dancing for 8 years with Ballet Rincon in Tucson, AZ. Dancing, especially ballet, is my passion and I plan on pursuing dance in college and possibly as a career. After auditioning last month, I am honored and thrilled to have been invited into the American Ballet Theatre’s Collegiate Summer Intensive Program for pre-professional dancers aged 17-24 on Broadway in New York City this June!
American Ballet Theatre is considered one of the greatest dance companies in the world, and is "revered as a living national treasure since its founding in 1939." ABT is considered by many to be the closest thing that the US has to a national ballet company. Mikhail Baryshnikov was the Artistic Director of ABT in the 1980s and Misty Copeland is still part of the ABT company along with many other world-famous dancers.
As there is no housing provided (my mom will be chaperoning me to NYC) and no scholarships offered, we are expecting it to be over $5,000 to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity. If you are able to donate ANY amount it would help us greatly.
Another way to help, aside from donations, is to help us reduce our lodging expenses. We would be grateful to be connected with someone you know in NYC that could offer us a bedroom that we can use/rent or insight on inexpensive lodging. Any connections would be amazing!
Thank you so much for your continued support of helping me pursue my dreams of dancing professionally!
