I was accepted to the Winter Tangerine fall workshop at Poets House in New York City! It's a four-day intensive writing workshop with "readings, prompts, discussions and a live seminar with a featured writer."
Reading and writing have been pillars of my survival the last several years. Without a college degree it's hard to gain access to or afford (most things, but specifically) the artist programs that are out there.
This workshop is a huge opportunity for me to be in a creative learning space that caters specifically to me and like-minded folx who are trying to write themselves more alive. The peer work, established artist mentorship, and space to devote to creativity will be invaluable. The exposure (potential to publish in their next anthology, working with published poets) will help me shift from surviving to thriving.
Please help me pay the program fee ($300), flights $350, make up for taking off work ($200 cost), eat yummy things ($100?) and get around (metrocard = $32) while I'm there.
