Hello Fellow Souls of the World,

 

I am a Native American Woman of Dinéh (Navajo), Apache, and Aztec descent on a healing journey for myself, my people, and the planet.

 

I have recently been blessed with an opportunity to participate and be of service at a traditional Sundance Ceremony this summer in South Dakota, which begins on July 17th. Sundance is a very sacred Native American Ceremony. Simply put, it is a big prayer for the people and the world.

 

I was just a little girl when I first heard about The Sundance. I have dreamed of not only going but dancing there ever since. This opportunity very recently (like in the past couple of weeks) opened up for me, and I feel it will be truly life-changing.

 

The $3200 I am asking for is to cover:

 

1) Getting my vehicle ready for travel: $1100 (transaxle, alignment, oil change)

2) Fuel: $1060 (Round trip to pre-ceremony sweat in CA + to South Dakota and back -approximately 4500 miles @ 24mpg, $5.65/gallon)

3) Food: $450 (17 days of food @$25 /day for travel to and from and time at ceremony, including bringing excess food as offering to the kitchen at Sundance

4) Lodging: $500 (Though I will mostly be car camping, there will still be some camping fees and ideally a few modest hotels in route and after the long journey.

 

Not included above is covering for the care of my son while I am away, and the loss of income from time off of work.

 

This is such a humbling experience in so many ways. One being that it is very challenging and uncomfortable for me to ask for help. But perhaps it is part of my path right now to surrender and learn how to ask for and receive support for this work I am being called to do.
