Nobody likes having to ask for help, especially not after having asked for help just little while ago, but it's easier to ask for help for others than it is to ask for oneself- the "She asked for no pickles" paradox, as some have deemed it.

Well, in this case the "pickles" are a cold, uncaring universe that's thrown a year's worth of challenges at someone I care about in about two months, so here I am to ask for help for them.

About a week ago, on the way to a job interview, Sam was riding an E-bike, freshly purchased just a few days prior, when a large crack in the sidewalk sent booty over teakettle, and down went Sam, breaking several hand bones.

Well, here's the Sam and the bike. Wave hi, Sam!

Oh. Wait. Hm, you probably shouldn't, given that your hand is broken.

This is just one in a list of things that honestly? Nobody should have to go through. A few months ago, Sam got hit in the head with 80 pounds of metal at work, and was heading to an interview for a new job when this happened. We've all had days that felt like weeks- well, I've watched in real time as this last year has aged Sam at least five. Texas has not been the fresh start anyone was hoping, so here we are, hat in (broken) hand, to ask for help to get Sam, their partner, Rían, the dogs, and everyone's stuff, back out to California.

Right now, the hope is to get Sam to California by the end of September, then Rían and the dogs to join soon after. Well, flights and moving van rentals cost money, so with your help and generosity, we'd like to try and raise $6000 to allow for those costs, and a small cushion upon arrival.

We all know what life is like, right now. We all see moths fluttering out into the open sky when we open our wallets. Heck, some of us don't even get to see the moths anymore. But if you have a spare couple of bucks, if you can help, it's appreciated more than words can say- and even if you can't donate, spreading this around to friends and family who maybe can is almost as good.
