Hi, my name is Roberto Gael Rivera Herrera. I'm 15 years old, and I've spent the last 8 years climbing — not just walls, but every obstacle between me and the athlete I want to become.

This July, I'll be competing at the World Climbing Youth Championship Arco 2026 in Arco, Italy — one of the most important youth climbing events in the world, organized by World Climbing. I earned my spot by winning the National Lead (Ruta) Selection in 2026, representing Mexico in the U17 category.

Some of my career highlights:

• 1st Place — National Lead Championship (2023 & 2026 Selection)

• 3rd Place — CONADE National Games, Guadalajara (2024)

• Qualified for the World Youth Championship (China 2024 & Italy 2026)

• Member of the Mexican National Youth Climbing Team

Why I need your help:

The Mexican Federation of Sport Climbing (FEMED) is a nonprofit organization — it does not provide financial support to its athletes. Every peso of this trip comes from my family. We're a hardworking family from Oaxaca doing everything we can to make this happen, and we've already been covering training, equipment, and competition fees on our own.

The cost of flights, lodging, food and local transportation in Italy totals approximately $118,000 – $123,000 MXN (~$6,000 – $6,200 USD).

Every contribution — big or small — brings me one step closer to representing our country on the world stage.

This isn't just my dream. It's a chance to show the world what young Mexican athletes can do when they're given the opportunity.
