Send Rich to Belize

My dad, Rich Darner, has been a hard worker his entire life. He served over 20 years in the Air Force, retired from military service in 2006, and immediately began his civilian career. He’s currently a Safety Engineer for Mortenson and loves his job almost as much as he loves his family and his dog, Jobin.

Last week, my dad was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage IV metastatic lung cancer. While there is nothing my dad would love more than to return to work, between doctors appointments, treatments, and dealing with all that a late stage cancer diagnosis entails, going to work is not an option at this point. A close friend and colleague of my dad reached out and said my dad’s coworkers wanted to do something nice for my dad, and since we can’t give him what he really wants, which is to return to the job site, we decided to do the next best thing and send my dad to Belize for some much deserved rest and relaxation on the beach.
