Help me send Ralph to Nova Scotia.

Ralph has given me permission to share all of the information below.

 

 

A few months ago, Ralph (a custodian at my school) asked if I knew anyone he could hire to create a ceramic cookie jar replica of his house. He wanted to give it as a gift to his wife Elaine. I created the box for Ralph as a gift from me to him, and he brought it home for Elaine. Ralph even captured the special moment on camera and was excited to share it with me the next day. It was moving to see the joy they shared over the cookie jar. Tragically, just a few days later, Ralph returned home after work to discover Elaine had passed away unexpectedly.

 

 

 

Ralph and Elaine had been married for 31 years, had two children, and worked towards retiring together. Elaine was a reading specialist at an elementary school, and Ralph works both at the high school and a local newspaper. Ralph would often talk about their dreams of buying a property in Nova Scotia once they had retired. There is no way to quantify the impact Elaine's loss has had. Ralph has lost his best friend, partner and dreams of a shared future.

 

With a smile, Ralph takes excellent care of us in the art wing (which is no small task). He always takes time to appreciate student art and has even commissioned work from students in the past. After Elaine's passing, it wasn't long before Ralph was back at work.

It's my goal to raise enough money to send him on a trip to Nova Scotia where he can take time to rest, celebrate and remember Elaine's life.
