Help us send Qikiqtani Students to the National Science Fair!!
I am the secretary of this new society in Qikiqtaluk. I represent the board that is working hard to bring science fair back to the region! Until recently, the Baffin region/Capital region was the only region in Nunavut without a regional fair, but we have fixed that! This month, we will have the first Qikiqtaaluumi Science Fair in over 20 years!
We are hosting our fair virtually March 22nd and hope to let finalists know on March 25th that they are headed to the national CANADA-WIDE Science Fair! That is where you come in...
Youth Science Canada subsidizes the cost of regional winners to attend the national fair, but each region has a set amount they have to contribute for their finalists. Your donation will help cover all expenses for 3 regional finalist students (grades 7-12) and chaperones to attend a week-long STEM adventure in Fredericton NB! While there, students will present their projects, compete in the national competition and spend the week engaging in STEM and University/Campus life activities. More than that, they will be establishing a life-long connection to other students, STEM, research and learning!
Your donation will be spent on registration and travel fees for the Canada-Wide Fair! This will send 3 finalists and 2 chaperones to the National Science Fair! We will send the donated funds direction to Youth Science Canada so they can book our team and get us there!
Please help us make sure that the students in our region are not left out of this great opportunity!!
