Send PR Boys to All-West Native American Tourney!
My name is Kris Van Meteren and I'm raising funds to help Coach Henry "Half Court" Brown and his boy's basketball team, "Lakota Nation," raise funds to participate in next week's All West Native American Basketball Tournament in Denver, CO.
I've known Henry Brown since college. He is an impressive athlete in his own right and earned his nickname from his amazing ability to sink half court shots with seemingly little effort. More importantly, he has a heart for God and for ministering to the kids of the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, which has been his home his entire life. One of the most effective tools he uses to reach kids with the hope and peace that is so often in short supply is to get them involved in sports.
As with many volunteer efforts, fundraising is always a challenge and this worthy cause is no different. Coach Brown needs to quickly raise $2,100 to take the Lakota Nation Boys Team to Denver for the tournament, which runs from July 15-18, 2021.
I've already contributed and hope you will too! Every dollar helps. In an effort to be fully transparent, here is what Coach Brown says the funds will be used for:
Entry Fee-$275
Hotel for Coach Brown + 8 Players - $1,418.32
Gas - $400
Total Budget - $2,093.32
Coach Brown says that any funds raised beyond these expenses will be used to pay for meals. He is willing to speak personally with anyone who has questions or needs additional information. He adds, "This year will be my 22nd year of taking a team to this tournament. It's something Lakota kids from Pine Ridge really look forward to. Anything you can give will help and be greatly appreciated! God bless you for caring and for your generosity!"
