Send Peyton to (JrNYLC)

Peyton has been chosen to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington DC after being nominated by the Ridgway Middle School National Junior Honor Society Advisor, Mrs. Eckman (formerly Ms. Reilly.) It is only the 2nd time in Mrs. Eckman's career that one of her students has been chosen!

Unfortunately, this experience costs more than we can afford, so we are swallowing our pride and asking for your help to give Peyton this honor she has worked so hard for. Peyton always puts 110% into everything she does. She has already shown fantastic leadership skills by running the first ever Pet Drive at Ridgway Middle School last year and is in the process of planning this year's Pet Drive. She has volunteered countless hours and continues to search for additional volunteer opportunities.

Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) is a six-day premier leadership development program held in Washington, D.C., next summer. Some highlights of the program are:

1. Keynote Speaker Anthony Robles, born with one leg; Anthony Robles defied the odds to become a three-time all-American wrestler and the 2011 NCAA National Wrestling Champion.

2. Voices of Change Project-Students will be immersed in this collaborative, conference-long project, where they will practice real-world leadership skills by devising an action-oriented organization to create positive change at their schools and in their communities.

3. Capitol Hill Experience-Students reflect on the responsibility of public service with a trip to Washington, D.C.'s Capitol Hill. Past experiences have included a visit to the Floor of the House and a private presentation from former members of Congress.

4. Legendary Stories from America's Past - Students will learn about United States history while uncovering more about the individuals who affected its change over time. Some of the sites students will visit include the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, the Korean and Vietnam War Memorials, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, and more.

If you can donate, we will forever be grateful and thank you in advance. If you are not able to contribute, please share. Every $1 helps. The money raised is just for the cost of the program. We can cover the travel, meals and other expenses. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
