Hello, my name is Peter Mangor Buol, a South Sudanese youth leader and Founder of Mansa Musa Digital Hub, a community-based organization empowering displaced and underserved youth with digital skills in Juba, South Sudan.

I am truly honored to have been selected to participate in the 5th UNCTAD Youth Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, from 20–23 October 2025. This global platform brings together young leaders from around the world to share ideas, learn, and shape solutions to today’s most pressing challenges.

For me, this is more than just attending a conference — it is an opportunity to represent the voices of South Sudanese youth on the international stage, highlight the realities of post-conflict societies, and bring back valuable knowledge, networks, and insights that will strengthen my work in empowering young people back home.

My motivation to work with and for young people is also deeply personal. Growing up in South Sudan, my family has endured the harsh realities of conflict. Three of my brothers were abducted during the war, and this painful experience has shaped my determination to advocate for peace, education, and opportunities for the next generation. I believe that by raising our voices in spaces like UNCTAD, we can contribute to building a future where no child has to endure what my family went through.

Unfortunately, the costs of travel, visa, and accommodation are beyond my current means. Based on my calculations, I will need about $2,200 to cover:

Visa & processing: $200–$350

Flights (Juba–Geneva roundtrip): $1,000–$1,300

Accommodation (5 nights): $400–$600

Meals & local transport: $250–$350

With your kind support, I will be able to attend this Forum and ensure that the perspectives of South Sudanese youth are included in global discussions. Every contribution, big or small, brings me one step closer to Geneva and to making a difference for my community.
