As most of you know, we're Mark and Scott and we're primary school teachers here in London.
Currently we have the great privilege of teaching a wonderful group of young people who have started the year in the best possible mindset and are already giving their all in every lesson. One of the most anticipated events of the year is our School Journey.
This is a week-long residential trip to a wonderful outdoor education centre in East Sussex called Hindleap Warren. While there we get to participate in a wealth of fun activities, build new friendships and develop our independence as we look forward to secondary school (more information can be found at their website: https://hindleapwarren.org/).
Unfortunately, as you will be well aware, the last few months have been some of the most financially challenging for many families across the UK. With energy bills soaring, rent costs rising and things getting generally more expensive, families are having to prioritise where their money is spent.
This has meant that a small number of our cohort are potentially going to miss out on what will undoubtedly be a hugely beneficial and incredibly fun experience. As a school we have tried to help financially where we can but with our own energy costs and pay changes demanding a much larger proportion of our budget, we are unable to provide more than we already have to make this happen.
And so if you're reading this and have even £1 to spare that could help send some of our awesome students to Hindleap, we would be eternally grateful.
We already know we have some generous members of our school community who are going to contribute to help make this happen but we need all the help we can get.
If we manage to exceed our goal, all money will go towards future school projects and experiences to support those most in need within our community.
I am happy to answer any and all questions regarding the trip and what precisely the money will go towards - just message me!
Please share far and wide with anyone you think may be able to contribute.
Thank you so much for your support. Hopefully together we can make it happen!
-Mark & Scott.
