Send our BHS Anglers to Bassmaster Nationals

Batavia High School’s Fishing Team (Tucker Oakes & Thomas Woodard) is currently ranked one of the top ten teams in the state of Illinois for the 2nd year in a row! This has earned them the opportunity to fish the Bassmaster High School National Championship on Lake Hartwell in Anderson, SC, July 23-29, 2023.

National events are not funded by the IHSA for any sport or activity and the team is responsible for funding this trip from their own pockets. The boys have worked incredibly hard to get this far and need your help to raise approximately $3,000 to cover fuel, food, and accommodations for the trip. We estimate fuel cost alone to be close to $1500 for travel and 6 days of fuel for the boat. This is an incredible opportunity for these young anglers to fish against the best high school anglers in the country. Let’s set them up for a successful run at a national championship by covering these costs! We humbly ask for your support and donations.
