Send Nya to Miami City Ballet!

Hello everyone, my name is Nya.

I am a young ballerina who has gotten accepted into the Miami City Ballet summer intensive, but it is my responsibility to fundraise for the intensive. I will be paying for the intensive in two parts: first half due as soon as possible, and last half due by April 1, 2023.

The money goes toward the cost of tuition ($3,375), housing ($2,545), groceries ($500), dance supplies ($200), and airplane tickets($800-1200).

I have been dancing for a little over 5 years and currently dance on scholarship with Pacific Northwest Ballet. I have been working hard and even though I joined ballet later than most of my peers, I have made a lot of gains toward my goal of becoming a professional ballerina.

I got my start at Tacoma Urban Performing Arts Center, and have been a part of many productions in my local town of Tacoma. I have performed at the Tacoma Art Museum, Lakewold Gardens, the last four consecutive Urban Nutcrackers, and even was the lead role of Harriet Tubman in an artistic movie, directed by Klair Etheridge, that won an award in the Cannes Film Festival. Some of the productions that I have already been a part of with Pacific Northwest Ballet include: The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and I will soon perform in Snow White in March 2023.

Any help is greatly appreciated! My hope is to continue advancing in levels (currently level 6), and to continue to gain experience and diversity through other school's teachings. This can only happen during the summer months, since I dance full-time throughout the year. For my sophomore, junior and senior years, I am hoping to go to School of American Ballet (in New York), as well as American Ballet Theater (in New York) to further my dance education.

as of now, both my tuition and housing fees have been payed for! i could not have done it with out all of you. In addition to my gofundme, i have been selling clothes. at an event called thriftapalooza, i was able to make over $1000. with extra money i have saved, we have reached our goal of $8000! now, i have money to start going to my summer intensive tuition and dorming next year! once again, thank you all so much.
