Natasha Alford’s story begins right here in Syracuse. A proud graduate of Nottingham High School (SCSD), Natasha went on to Harvard, built a remarkable career in journalism, and is now an author, changemaker, and inspiration to so many.
On March 10, Natasha will return home to speak as part of the Friends of the Central Library (FOCL) Author Series — and I (also a Nottingham alum) want Nottingham High School students to be there to see her.
For these students, this isn’t just another lecture. It’s a living example of what’s possible — of someone who once sat where they sit, dreamed big, and made it happen.
I’m raising funds to purchase tickets for Nottingham students to attend this special event. We would also like to provide transportation to and from the venue for them.
Each ticket costs $15, and every dollar raised will go directly toward getting students in those seats. Our goal is to send 200 students!
Please consider contributing whatever you can — and help give these students a night they’ll never forget.
