The students of R. Dan Nolan Middle School in Lakewood Ranch, Florida earned their spot the hard way. Through months of building, programming, testing, and competing, these young men captured multiple Excellence Awards at regional championships, earning one of the most coveted qualifications in youth robotics: a berth at the VEX Robotics World Championship in St. Louis.
This is not a participation trophy. This is the result of real teamwork, dedication, and a genuine passion for engineering and technology that is rare at any age, let alone middle school. Unfortunately Manatee County is unable to fund their trip. Registration, flights, hotels, transportation, and meals all fall on the families of boys who already gave everything to get here.
We are asking our friends, colleagues, family, and community to step up. Every contribution gets them closer to competing on a world stage and showing what is possible when kids are given the space to build something extraordinary.
THANK YOU. It is rare that we ask for something like this. Whether you donate or share this with one person who might, your support means the world to these kids and to the families standing behind them. We are grateful beyond words.
