Please help Noel Torres compete in the 2020 UWW World Championships December 2-12, 2020 in Belgrade, Serbia!
And, he will compete at the 2020 (postponed until 2021) Olympics! Noel says he knew wrestling was the sport for him the first time he stepped onto the mat. "An old buddy asked me to try out during our 8th grade year. It sounded tough and exciting, so I went for it! Fell in love the first day of practice." said Noel.
Since then, Noel has been very successful winning the NCAA Division II Championship in 2018, the MIAA Conference Championship in 2018, the Kansas High School State Tournament in 2013, and securing a spot on Federacion Medallistas de Luchas Asociadas (FEMELA)World Team for Mexico in 2020.
Because Noel's family is originally from Chihuahua Mexico, he was able to gain dual citizenship with the United States and Mexico. After getting a degree in Information Technology and a MBA in Management Information Systems, he decided it was time to achieve one more goal... a spot on the Mexico World Team. He won two National Qualifiers and is currently a Mexico team member at 86 kilos.
Noel trains with Eric Guerrero at Green Country Regional Training Center/OKRTC in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He met Coach Guerrero in the summer of 2020 at a training camp. "It was perfect timing in my wrestling career. Coach promised me individual attention to help grow my freestyle game, so I was sold!" said Noel.
Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, many teams have decided not to participate in the World Championships. Mexico, however, is allowing Noel to compete representing the FEMELA. With help from OKRTC, we are raising money to help Noel realize his dream. Our goal is to raise $20,000. All funds received through this fundraiser will go toward room and board, airfare, gear and training.

Every donation helps! Thank you for your support!
