We are thrilled to share that Nico Birch and Noah Giraldo have been selected to represent Team Canada at the 2025 IFMA Senior World Championships in Antalya, Türkiye, from May 22 to 31!
A Journey of Dedication & Growth
Nico and Noah first met as a shy 12 and 14 year-old at Stride Muay Thai, barely speaking a word to each other. Through years of training, discipline, and unwavering support, they forged a bond that transformed them—not just into elite athletes, but into lifelong teammates and mentors.
Their journey began at the Canada Youth Movement demo in 2018, and since then, they have:
- Competed at the Ontario Provincials, Canadian Nationals, and TBA World Expo
- Trained and fought professionally in Thailand at Sinbi Stadium
- Volunteered as coaches, mentoring the next generation of Muay Thai fighters
Outside the gym, Nico is a full-time psychology student at UBC, and Noah is a paramedic in Toronto—yet they train every single day in pursuit of their dreams.
A Historic Moment for Team Canada
Nico competed for Canada at the 2022 Junior World Championships, and Noah at the 2024 Senior World Championships—but 2025 marks the first time they will represent Canada together. Competing at this level is not just a milestone—it’s a stepping stone toward the Olympics.
