Send Nate to study theatre in Italy
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nate, a junior Acting and Music Double major currently studying at Fordham University in New York, and I am hoping to find a way to be able to study abroad. The Accademia Dell'Arte Program in Italy is an incredible summer training workshop based in Tuscany, Italy that offers intense physical and vocal actor training courses. The two courses I would be attending if I get the opportunity to attend the program are "The Resonant Voice" and "Hidden Dimensions: The Musicality of Performance," both of which involve the combination of Acting and Music to deepen understanding of their uses in theatre.
As an Actor and Musician, this is incredibly important to my personal philosophy of art, that all fields and disciplines are interconnected and the honing of one aids us in the honing of all. I have already put this belief into practice in many shows as an actor and as a composer/sound designer (the cover photo is from Space Show, an original piece by Jason Kesse that I had the privilege of starring in), and I know for certain this program would greatly enhance my ability not only as an actor but as an artist. Additionally, I would use the time abroad to continue to develop my writing abilities, using the inspiring environments I'd be in to create songs, poems, essays and perhaps even a play.
Unfortunately, the price of studying in Italy isn't exactly cheap, and neither my University nor the program itself can offer me any sort of financial aid or scholarship at this time, preventing me from being able to take this opportunity. The money donated here will go towards paying the Program's tuition of $4,500 and the travel expenses associated with the trip. I am hoping that I will be able to raise enough money through this site to be able to further my artistic practice and theory and to get to visit somewhere new. Thank you for your help!
