Help us get to Young Life Camp!

For the past six and a half years, I’ve had the joy of living life alongside a group of now senior girls at Homewood High School. This summer, we have the incredible opportunity to spend a week together at Young Life’s Crooked Creek Ranch in Fraser, Colorado, but we need your help getting there!
Over these past several years, we have grown together as a group in some really bold and beautiful ways, welcoming in others as the girls have learned what it looks like to share the love of Jesus with those around them. We’ve celebrated one another’s joys and sat in one another’s heartaches. We’ve learned about what it looks like to follow Jesus in the everyday mundane of life, and we have studied God’s Word together every Wednesday morning since they were in 7th grade and I was a sophomore at Samford! This year has been different for us, but no less sweet. It has been filled with the anticipation of college acceptance letters, talks about hopes and dreams for the future and conversations about what major choices might help make them a reality, questions about sorority life and what it looks like to follow Jesus in college, plus so much more!
As I’ve led this group of girls, watching them grow from timid middle schoolers into strong young women, by far my greatest joy has been watching them grow in their relationships with Jesus. Two of these girls are now junior leaders and help out with Homewood Middle School Wyldlife, and several others have stepped up into leadership roles in their churches. This summer at Crooked Creek, we will have the opportunity to talk more about what it looks like to share faith in college and remain rooted in God’s love. I can assure you that your investment is an eternal one as some of the girls going are eager to learn more about sharing their faith and some are just beginning to discover what it looks like to have a personal relationship with our Creator!
Each one of the girls already signed up has committed to paying for the cost of camp in full, but we really need a little extra help paying for our transportation out to Colorado. Several other girls have also expressed interest in going, but really need help in paying for part of their camp cost as well as their transportation cost. Any extra money we raise will go into Young Life Birmingham’s general campership fund to help supplement camp costs for kids who couldn’t normally pay for it!
Thank you so much for your generosity as we seek to grow the Kingdom!
