As many of you know, Henry Herrera is retiring at the end of the 2018 school year. This is after an amazing 38 years of teaching. Each of us remember Mr. Herrera as one of the best instructors we had in high school. He was funny and fair, but most of all he exemplified the Christian character that Faith Christian High School desired to instill in all of us.
Mr. Herrera has been giving back his entire life and career. He pastors to the Spanish speaking at Calvary Chapel Church in Yuba City. Each month, he and his wife Mary minister at a prison. He also delivers lunch to the local homeless and participates in the FCHS Mexico Ministry.
It is our turn to give back to him. According to his faculty bio, Mr. Herrera states he would love to travel to Italy or central/southern Mexico.
We thought it would be amazing to raise funds for Mr. Herrera and Mary to take a vacation. All of this money, minus any fees from GoFundMe will go directly to Mr. and Mrs. Herrera. He will be presented with a card at the event on January 27th, which will give him direct access to the funds raised here for withdrawl.
Let's raise as much as we can! The $3,000 amount is based on vacation packages presented by Southwest Airlines for Mexico. Italy may be a long shot, but let's aim high. For 38 consecutive years, Mr. Herrera has given us all inspiration. Let's thank him for everything he has done.
