This year, Negaunee High School student, Miles Spaulding, was awarded the extremely prestigious national Scholastic Art & Writing American Visions Award. He is the only student in the Upper Peninsula to receive this honor!

Miles’ artwork will be on display in New York City, and he is invited, along with his supervising teacher, Mrs. Shefchik, to receive his Scholastic Gold Medal at a ceremony held at Carnegie Hall on June 10th. The combined cost to attend the ceremony and the related events is expected to be approximately $4,000 and is not covered by Scholastic.
