Two of our middle school robotics teams have earned a spot at the 2026 VEX Robotics Competition World Championship, but they need your help to get there.
Teams 93303G and 93303H are VEX Robotics Competition teams from Monmouth Memorial School in Monmouth, a small rural Maine community. Starting in the late spring of 2025, these students began preparing for a series of qualifying tournaments that challenged the young engineers to design, build, and program robots that perform several timed feats. These tasks required the team to think critically, employ problem-solving strategies, and collaborate effectively. In addition to the head-to-head competition in tourney matches, these students must also communicate professionally during judges’ interviews, network with other teams, and present a detailed engineering notebook for inspection. Arriving at 6:30 a.m. three to four days a week and frequently staying after school to work on their bots, these dedicated students have persevered for a long season.
Their determination paid off when they recently competed at the Maine State Championship and swept the competition, securing all the qualifying spots at the tournament and earning the following awards:
- Tournament Champions (93303G and 93303H were the winning alliance)
- Excellence Award (93303H)
- Design Award (93303G)
- Skills Champion (93303H)
These Awards qualify them for the high school World Championships in St. Louis, Missouri.
This honor comes with a hefty price tag. Before they can test themselves in competition with teams from around the world, they must first raise considerable funds for airfare, accommodations, ground transportation, and bot transportation.
