Send Michael to the Beach Wrestling World Series
Michael Peters has recently qualified to represent the United States at the 2021 Beach Wrestling World Series. The Beach Wrestling World Series consists of four beach wrestling events where wrestlers compete to build up points based on how they finish at each tournament and ends with the World Series Final Championships. The total points earned determine overall ranking for the wrestlers in each weight class. There are usually around twenty-five countries represented. Michael would like to participate in the final three events located in Rome, Italy (September 3 & 4) and Katerini – Pierria, Greece (September 10 & 11) before heading to the World Series Final Championships in Constanta, Romania (September 25 & 26).
The costs of competing for the United States Beach World team are high – between plane tickets, lodging and tournament fees. Beach Wrestling is only recognized as an associated sport by USA Wrestling as it is a growing sport, meaning all costs are the responsibility of the athletes.
Michael is from Quincy, Illinois where he wrestled at Quincy Senior High and now attends Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri where he currently wrestles. This will be Michael’s forth time qualifying to represent Team USA with previous 3rd and 5th place finishes. He is excited and looking forward to the opportunity to continue to represent the United States on the international stage but needs your help in getting there!
