Send Meiko to Searock Sessions
For a while now, there's been something missing. Lacking. Missed. I have felt this for two years now.
Hi, I'm Meiko, and I serve as an Executive Pastor at a local church in St. Petersburg, Fl. Ever since I got the opportunity to serve in this role, it's been lonely. The things I think about are at levels only those who serve in similar roles can empathize with. I've endeavored to chart a path of linking the local church with our city and have found many successes and some losses, and all have been suffered in ways that lack community. Daily there's the fight against imposter syndrome. Ideas that you know are good but getting others onboard proves challenging. And all of this, I have wondered, are there others who go through this? Who feel this way?
When the opportunity to apply for Searock Session came up, I jumped. It felt right. It felt like this was what I needed. To grow. To deepen. To connect.
"Searock Sessions is a new learning cohort for pastors and church leaders, with a vision for renewal in the Church in the post-Christian West.
Our aim is to develop deep communities of leaders who share a common imagination: to cultivate resilient disciples of Jesus, living and working in vibrant kingdom communities, pursuing radical, counter-cultural kingdom ethics, and seeking renewal in secular culture in the power of the Holy Spirit."
Getting accepted into the cohort was surprising for me. I actually laughed when I saw the acceptance email. And then it hit me! How can I afford this? With a baby on the way, finances are tight. So I am reaching out to my community to help me pay the cohort price. On the other side of this, I see a changed Meiko. Deeper. More connective. Full. Grounded.
Will you be a part of actualizing that vision? Thanks for anything you can do.
