Send Me To Stroke Rehab Intense 2 Day Boot Camp!!

Hi, I’m Angie. I had a stroke. I was driving to work and BAM my whole life changed. I had my whole life ripped away from me. I had a hemorrhagic stroke, which is only 13% of all strokes. I survived, most people don’t with a hemorrhagic stroke. I was completely paralyzed on my right side. I spent 2 weeks in the ICU and then I was transferred to Sinia Hospital in Baltimore, MD. They have a great brain injury unit. I was there for about 3 and a half months. There, I had to re-learn everything. Walk, talk, dressing myself, etc...basically I was like a baby. But I was cognitive the whole time. Then I had to move in with my mom in Pennsylvania. I walked with a cane and my arm was in a sling type of thing which held my shoulder up. I was sent to an outpatient rehab, Health South. They are a really great outpatient rehab. My physical therapist taught me how to walk without a cane. My speech therapist had me really talking again. My occasional therapist was so great. But according to my scores in occupational therapy, I had plateaued. I was sent home with a home therapy regimen. But I couldn’t stretch my muscles like my occasional therapist did. My Saebo Flex device wasn’t working for me anymore because it needs to be adjusted according to my spasticity. In layman’s terms, it wouldn’t work because my arm or hand was too tight.

I am asking for help with getting me to a 2-3 day intensive therapy for my hand. I can walk, talk, and even move my right arm. My problem is that my right hand is basically in a half fist. The program is in South Carolina and would cost $2000. I live in Pennsylvania and I don’t have $2000.  I would love to attend this weekend program. I don’t like it ask for anything from anyone, but this is one of those time I have to swallow my pride and ask.
