Hi, my name is Langston, I am 12 years old and I am a Baseball Fanatic! I am asking you to please consider donating to me to help me participate in the Cooperstown tournament in New York this August. If you are not familiar, this it is a week-long major league baseball experience that is considered a rite of passage for any true 12 year old baseball player. Cooperstown All-Star Village is just minutes from historic Cooperstown, the birthplace of baseball.
As for me, I live in sunny San Diego in southern California and I’ve been playing baseball now for about 8 years. I play for a team called Winn Baseball, we come from Chula Vista and have an amazing team. I love baseball for so many reasons, it keeps you fit, it makes you think, it's a team sport and most of all it is super fun. The excitement of the game and cheering from the crowd always gets my heart pumping, and brings me the most joy. Over the years I have played on Little League, PONY and Travel Ball teams. I have made lifelong friends and got to play against so many other fantastic players.
One of my goals is to visit every baseball stadium in the United States. I want to visit the Major league and the Minor league ones too. I have already been fortunate enough to cross off Petco, Truist, Oracle, Dodger Stadium and Toyota field. I hope to make it to see the Oakland Coliseum before the A's leave to Las Vegas. My biggest goal is to get a college scholarship to play for Tennessee while studying law. Baseball is my passion and over the years I have gotten a few nicknames including Fish, LL and Bubba. My number is 44 which is a tribute to Hank Aaron I play pitcher and 3rd base my favorite pro team is the San Diego Padres and my favorite player is Ronald Acuña Jr.
Cooperstown is located in New York. It is the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Every year they hold a youth baseball tournament for 12 year olds. Teams from the United States, Canada and Mexico get the chance to play six preliminary games before being seeded into a single-elimination tournament. It would be a dream come true to go to Cooperstown to have fun and compete in this exciting, once in a lifetime tournament.
The tournament is about a week long we will play a minimum of 6 games but hope to last the entire tournament to play all 13 games. My personal cost is about $2500 to participate. It covers tournament entry fees, housing for one week, custom uniforms, coach expenses, all my food and much more. Our trip is schedule August 11 through August 17, 2024.
I need your help to raise money so that I can attend the tournament and hopefully get into the AMERICAN YOUTH BASEBALL HALL OF FAME! I truly believe if I attend this tournament, it will make me a stronger baseball player and I will achieve my dream of becoming a college baseball player. I would love to take baseball even farther and become a professional baseball player one day. I thank you for taking the time to consider donating to me.
Thank you for your support and God Bless!
