Send Me: Mission to South Korea
For over five years I have passionately raised money for my brothers and sisters of North Korea, and have worked to raise awareness as to the plight of the people. A few years back I had the honor of volunteering for the family of Kenneth Bae, the longest detained American in North Korea since the Korean War. Through my work I was able to form a lifelong friendship, learn more about the true people of North Korea, and what their needs are.
Since his release, Kenneth has moved back to South Korea and has launched his organization, Nehemiah Global Initiative (NGI). This organization has a mission to remember, rescue, restore, and rebuild the lives of the most vulnerable populations, including North Korean orphans and refugees.
My family has been invited to actively be a part of the "Rebuild" section of NGI's mission this summer. Through their English language camp, they seek to teach North Korean students English, life skills, and equip them to develop into skilled, socially active members of their communities.
Being able to participate in this mission opportunity represents to me the fulfillment of a dream. To be able to go and share my gifts with others, to lift them up and empower them, provide them with skills to be the agents of their own personal revolution is a powerful experience that stands to change the lives of the students I would work with, both also myself and my family.
Due to multiple factors, we need financial partners to join with us and help us achieve our goal. By partnering with us you have the opportunity to be the fuel behind my dream, and to play an active role in the life changing work we will be doing.
