Last year, as the Pandemic hit, Maroo was turned into the San Jose Animal Care Center for euthanasia due to his fear and frustration biting. They contacted me to help find a foster, and I did! CC stepped up to foster Maroo, but we could never find a new foster due to the combination of the above circumstances (Plague and biting).
We looked into as many sanctuaries as possible, but all of them wanted huge dollars to take Maroo, and would not guarantee they would still not put him to sleep.
So- CC met with a trainer, and the trainer agreed we could not place him in a home at this point. He needs to be trained, or PTS before he harms someone.
In a quiet home, Maroo is great. He loves CC and his companion dog, but he cannot be trusted in a home with children or elders. It's time we get Maroo some training to help him gain the skills he needs to be able to move on to his forever home.
He deserves it, and we thank you for any help you might offer. The trainer is doing this at a discount for the Bay Area, and ALL funds will go to paying the trainer and continuing to support Maroo. Regular updates have been given on Facebook via Bay Area Shiba Meetup and Friends, and we will continue to keep folks appraised of his progress.
