Sending Love to the McDaniels
Our dear friend Matt McDaniel passed away on October 22nd at St Peter’s hospital following a brief and sudden illness. He is survived by his wife, Fiona, and their two vivacious daughters, Chloe (9) and Layne (6).
Matt taught us all about living. Everything he’s done in his precious and rich life he’s done with gusto.
When we think of Matt, we think of his wide grin, his signature laugh, his warm hugs, his endless positivity, his genuine charisma. We think of his hilarious antics (I mean, do you know anyone else who would wear a Kimono to meet his friends for hibachi?), his ability to break out amazing dance moves anytime, anywhere. We think of his kindness, the way he truly lit up a room when he walked in. We think of any gathering he wasn’t present at and how the whole energy was tangibly different without him. And we think of his deeply profound and absolutely bottomless love and admiration for his three girls.
What Matt loved most in the whole world (besides a good beer, D&D, and the Eagles) was the experiences he got to have with his wife and daughters. Whether it be a great meal out somewhere just down the road, or a trip halfway around the globe to explore a new place, Matt was down for it so long as he had his girls with him. He sought to share life experiences with them, but he didn’t wait for experiences to happen. He chased them down...
Because that was Matt.
Matt has taught us all about life, about living -and he gave us all the gift of knowing him... one of the greatest human beings any of us will ever have the privilege to know. Matt gave so much to all of us and now it’s our turn to give back just a tiny bit to his precious girls. Let us raise a few bucks for them to share some experiences together in the future in honor of Matt’s one fantastic, amazing and precious life.
