Send Love to the Hines Family

UPDATE: The celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Church of Arvada, located at 6969 Sheridan, Arvada, CO. Please join the Hines family for a casual service; everyone is welcome. Feel free to come dressed in your favorite Premier West gear or baseball finest.

The Hines family is a pillar in the Arvada community, and they have suffered an unimaginable loss. Derek was a loving husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and friend. The Hines family needs our help to support them through this difficult time.

Derek Hines grew up in Arvada, CO and graduated from Arvada West High School. Derek was an excellent baseball player and played at the collegiate level before being drafted to play in the minor league franchise of the Chicago Cubs. After finishing his baseball career, he moved back to his hometown to start his youth baseball organization, now known as Premier West. Over the years, he has coached and mentored thousands of baseball kids in Colorado; many went on to do big things. Derek also had a love of golf and participated in professional long-drive competitions.

Derek was a loving father to Brody and Addi and a loving husband to the love of his life, Julie. He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Gloria, and his brother, Jason and his family, his in-laws Marlyce and Jerry, as well as many other family and friends.
