Simone V Moss aka Babes Trust has been a crazy sister and a friend to me and so many around the world. She always knows how to add that special ingredient to make her event extra special and has been a leader in so many situations, but prefers to stay in the background getting things done. I have always wished for her to step in front of the spot light and have her voice heard, but she has always insisted that she was okay with her placement as long as the queer community continued to flourish.
This is why I am stepping up for my sister and asking for donations to help her heal after FFS surgery and not have to worry about bills for a while.
This beautiful spirit has worn many different hats and has lived many lives. Here's a few of her accomplishments:
Simone co-create the amazing international drag festival of music and love Bushwig in 2012.
She organized Hackney Queer Pride in London which centered Refugee, no borders, and homeless charity voices. This was the first Pride event in Britain to ban all commercial sponsorships.
From 2009-2012 was in the band Teeth. A trio that toured globally and had some great bops.
Founded the NYC Porn Film Festival, which gave sex workers and amateur “art porn” a bigger platform to critque the industry and trended #1 worldwide once Miley Cyrus submitted an entry.
She also started the Brooklyn-based “Drag Terrorist”group BOTTOMS that led to bookings across the globe, most importantly, the world famous club Berghain.
During the beginning of quarantine, together with Horrorchata and Merrie Cherry, she raised $22,000 for Black and Trans Lives organizations.
The list can go on, but one thing is clear. Simone V is a powerhouse and we cannot wait to see what else she accomplishes once she is 100% healed. Please help where you can.
