Send LOUIE to Washington DC for 15 Days: Worshiping Watchman
Donation protected
I am Louis Lincoln ("Louie") from Duluth, Minnesota. I ❤️LOVE❤️ JESUS, MUSIC, WORSHIP, PRAYER & INTERCESSION.
I have a wonderful ministry opportunity to spend 15 days in Washington, DC on Capitol Hill with the American Center for Prayer & Revival (ACPR).
They have PRAYER & WORSHIP 24/7 going on directly across from the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS)!!!
They work quite closely along with "David's Tent," where Christians gather 24/7 for PRAYER & WORSHIP.
I have traveled on 5 music missions trips with The Continental Singers, raising support for those 5 tours between 1985 & 1988.
My music ministry started in the early 70's at First Presbyterian Church, my family's home church, when I was in elementary school.
I began playing French Horn the summer before 7th grade, 49 years ago. I began to play French Horn in the Duluth Gospel Tabernacle Orchestra in 1981, as a junior at Duluth Central High School.
I served at Salem Covenant Church from October '82 thru Sept. '84, accompanying the church choir & playing music with Jim Anderson, who was my mentor during that time.
After my time with The Continental Singers, I returned to Duluth and became extremely active with the ECCLESIA Congregation, using my piano skills to accompany the worship choir & worship team from 1989 through 1992.
I continued to help out at First Presbyterian Church, Duluth Gospel Tabernacle & fill in at other churches around Duluth, wherever there was a need in the local church body.
I lost track of the number of weddings & funerals I've played (& sang) for.
I cannot leave out "Pure Heart Ministries," with excellent musicians from several churches in the Twin Ports.
We began to host 'Festivals of Worship' to allow opportunities for several Duluth churches to come together. We had the orchestra directors from Duluth Central (Mark Eskola) and Duluth East (Jerry Jones) and some tight vocals with Susan, Bonnie, Kevin & yours truly (ME!!).
After returning to the Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, I helped establish 2 worship teams of singers & bands. I directed a youth choir, Shiloh, and also played in the "Finnish Brass" and DGT Orchestra. I provided piano accompaniment for soloists, duets, & several vocal groups. I also directed the DGT adult choir several times.
After my brother Ellis passed away in April 1996, I took a "leave of absence" from being up front, and began to attend the old/original Great Lakes Gospel Church (GLGC). I eventually began to play keyboard along with Kathy Rosenbush & a very wonderful group of people, lifting JESUS together weekly. We rented several places for GLGC to meet, before we landed in Lincoln Park, and transformed an old Catholic Church into the new home of GLGC.
After 15-17 years, in June 2004, I returned back to First Presbyterian Church, the last of the big historic churches, built in the 1890's. I couldn't miss that 1st Sunday of June 2004, as it was Pat Olson's FINAL service as church organist, after 35 years!! I helped out 2 weeks, then 2 weeks of July. In August of 2004, Pastor John invited me to be their new organist. But I told him I couldn't make a 35-year commitment, like my predecessor & 1st piano teacher had done.
After nearly 10 years playing the old Skinner Pipe Organ, & working with the Chancel Choir, I returned to DGT and got to know some new folks and their new pastor, & other musicians & friends. I brought my Yamaha Clavinova from home down to DGT, to use in our worship services. Around 2014 I worked with Youth Minister Rebecca, and we put on a huge Christian children's musical: "UNFROZEN," with a different storyline and adjusted lyrics. I think we had nearly 80 kids participate in that production.
I ABSOLUTELY ❤️ LOVED ❤️ each of these seasons of my life, getting to know other Christians from different denominations. Our common denominator: LOVING JESUS & worshiping Him in spirit & truth.
Around mid-2020 I became involved with Duluth's House of Refuge, a younger congregation in the Duluth Heights. Pastor Dave Ballard plays guitar & sings, too. My Yamaha Clavinova made another "move" up to House of Refuge, while most of the world was staying home, fearful of the COVID pandemic.
Pastor Doug & Karen Stanton had an "extended stay" in Duluth while a friend from DGT fixed their motorhome. I forgot how many WEEKS they ministered to thousands of people around the Twin Ports area.
House of Refuge has had quite a unique ministry with the men of MN Adult & Teen Challenge, where Dave Ballard also works as a chaplain.
Several nights each week, several vans of guys from MNTC have come through the front doors of House of Refuge, and they've experienced the LOVE of the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. FREEDOM.
Monday night home-cooked meals are served, then discipleship time with our guys from MNTC.
So, this is a bit MORE than I planned on writing ✍️ about my background.
I'm now 61 years old, and am a student in the Unity Movement Institute, now located in Burnsville, MN. It's a 2-year ministry school, with 104 weeks of videos to watch on your iPad or computer. Dr. Charles Karuku and his wife Lindsey are such amazing people, and pour so much into the HUB, school & all they do for the Kingdom of GOD. I didn't expect to be a "student" again at 59 years old, & graduating at the age of 61!! I have experienced such amazing LOVE from the other UMI students. We have become FAMILY to each other.
Although I am the youngest in a family of 9 (grown) kids, I've been through such intense grief & loss.
I PRAISE GOD for my new brothers & sisters in Christ who I've gotten to know & love. Every 3 months, I head south for 4 nights, when The HUB hosts a 3-day intensive for all the UMI students, near or far. If you've not attended a 3-day intensive at the HUB --- YET --- you just watch my Facebook page or text me, & I'll let you know when & where it will be.
You WILL leave changed, touched, and overflowing from the teaching, worship, fellowship & prayer. And you'll probably add 20-25 new Facebook friends who you can chat with, pray with, and get to know.
SO... click on the 2 pictures with this post.
If you can't support me $$$, that's fine. But please PRAY for me in this endeavor Dec. 15 through Dec. 30.
